The craft museum

Life in Sundgau
Near Belfort, a half-timbered farmhouse recalls the rural life of past centuries.

In a typical farmhouse in the south of Belfort, the craft museum reveals the daily lives of Sundgau during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The region, largely agricultural, develops know-how at the service of working the land: in fact, impossible to imagine farming without the help of the blacksmith, farrier, the wheelwright, carpenter or cobbler or shoemaker. Jobs which are widely represented in the museum, in addition to expanding a steam engine belonging to the former sawmill Suarce.
The place also has a reading room open to the loan, consisting of 2200 books about local history.

The association behind the creation of the museum offers annual historical sound and light show in July.
