The Gemstone Workers' Museum

The Gemstone Workers' Museum recounts the history of the farmers from the Upper Jura who, in addition to farming, cut precious stones for the jewellery industry during the long, tough winters. Crystals as well as decorative and precious stones were thus shaped and polished by thousands of people over a period of two centuries. Visitors can watch a « living » demonstration with explanations of each stage involved. The visit is completed by a 15 minute video.
